International Dry Needling - 1

Myopain Seminars offers dry needling courses and other training programs worldwide, often in a two-course format.

Description

Since we began teaching DN courses in 1996, Myopain Seminars has conducted courses and presented at many international congresses in many different countries, such as Canada, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, India, Thailand, Taiwan, and Australia, among others.

While the DN course content is generally similar to the courses offered in the USA, we usually offer the courses in a 2-course format:

  • International DN-1: usually offered as a 5-day course
  • International DN-2: usually offered as a 4-day course with practical and theoretical examinations on the 4th day

The International DN courses cannot be combined with the regular DN course program.

During the International DN-1 course, many muscles commonly addressed in clinical practice are included, such as the infraspinatus, upper trapezius, deltoid, sternocleidomastoid, triceps, biceps, brachialis, coracobrachialis, levator scapulae, latissimus dorsi (partially), teres major and minor, supraspinatus, subscapularis, pectoralis major and minor, brachioradialis, wrist extensors and flexors, supinator and anconeus, and pronator teres muscles. Furthermore, clinicians will learn how to safely needle the posterior neck muscles, the oblique capitis inferior, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar multifidi, the quadratus lumborum, psoas major, lumbar iliocostalis, the gluteal muscles (minimus, medius, and maximus), the tensor fascia latae, the hip adductor muscles, the quadriceps and hamstrings, and the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles.

Students will review the anatomy, function, and dry needling techniques for each muscle.

The International Dry Needling 1 course is the first of a two-course series offered by Myopain Seminars outside the United States to attain certification as a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist – Dry Needling (CMTPT/DN).

The course organizers in each country handle all registrations. Only on rare occasions will Myopain Seminars handle course registrations. The local course organizers will determine the fees for the International DN course program.

The live Intramuscular Electrical Stimulation (IMES) course is a practical, hands-on course designed for clinicians who already completed the online IMES course. During the course, students will review and practice recommended treatment approaches using IMES for patients with neck, back, arm (epicondylalgia), hand, low back, pelvic, hip, and leg pain and dysfunction, and for muscle strengthening and motor recovery.

More Information

Intramuscular electrical stimulation (IMES) is increasingly used in clinical practice to modify or enhance the effects of needling interventions. Yet, no published guidelines exist to assist clinicians in their clinical reasoning for selecting stimulation parameters or determining adequate dosage for the use of IMES for any musculoskeletal condition. This online course will teach clinicians how to safely and effectively implement IMES into practice based on the most recent scientific evidence.
