The CRAFTA-2 consists of two parts: CRAFTA-2a (November 29-December 2, 2024) and CRAFTA-2b (March 8-11, 2025)
The CRAFTA-2 is comprised of two parts. CRAFTA-2a, Clinical Management of Craniomandibular & Craniofacial Dysfunctions and Pain and CRAFTA-2b, Clinical Management of Temporomandibular & Craniofacial Dysfunctions and Pain.
The CRAFTA-2a course, includes an update on TMD and craniofacial pain based on the most recent research evidence available and its implementation into the clinical setting. During the lectures a more detailed assessment for TMD will be explored including cranio-facial motor control testing and advanced principles of neuromuscular differential diagnosis. The physiology and dynamics of chewing will be introduced followed by the assessment and rehabilitation for clinical practice.
Clinical patterns for such problems as tinnitus and (pseudo)sinusitis will be discussed and the proposed neuromusculoskeletal treatments will be reviewed and practiced. The course includes actual case studies with craniofacial dysfunctions with attention to the clinical reasoning process , including the different hypothesis categories.
The CRAFTA-2, Part a and b courses are sections of the European CRAFTA Foundations course. Initial payment is for the entire CRAFTA-2 course (Part a & Part b).

The CRAFTA-2b course, also known as the "Clinical Management of Temporomandibular & Craniofacial Dysfunctions and Pain,"is a continuation of the CRAFTA-2a course. The course includes an update on pain mapping and functional differentiation of TMD, Including specific manual provocation tests.
Students will learn • specific clinical patterns of Functional Temporomandibular Instability (FTMI) • the anatomy and physiology of functional dysphonia • different causes of toothache • neuromusculoskeletal tests and rehabilitation strategies for these conditions
Furthermore, students will expand their knowledge of facial paresis and learn more about specific consequences of altered cerebral processing including facial body disruption. Attention will be paid to the clinical classification of craniofacial neuropathies together and craniofacial pain management strategies.
This advanced level course also includes the assessment and management of the maxillofacial complex in adults but especially in children, including facial cranial techniques in combination with functional facial organ training.
Throughout the course challenging case studies will be presented and hypotheses of pain mechanisms and clinical reasoning strategies will be explored in group activities.
The CRAFTA-2a & 2b courses are sections of the European CRAFTA Foundations course. Initial payment is for the entire CRAFTA-2 course (Parts a & b).
PREREQUISITE: Successful completion of the CRAFTA-2, Part I course.

At least fifteen (15) of the required thirty (30) contact hours shall be from Certified Activities. - In-depth knowledge of orofacial motor control, assessment and interpretation of 8 orofacial motor control tests and at least 3 management strategies
- Knowledge and skills for assessing masticatory actives during chewing and reproduction of at least 5 assessment and rehabilitation strategies of chewing
- In-depth knowledge of tinnitus with 5 assessment and management strategies
- In-depth knowledge of (pseudo) sinusitis with at least 6 assessment and management strategies
- Demonstrate anatomical knowledge of ventral neck pain with at least 6 neuromusculoskeletal differentiations for treatment options
- In-depth exploration of at least 4 clinical reasoning strategies specifically focused on the temporomandibular and craniofacial region
- Palpate at least 12 different structures associated with pain of the TMJ
- Perform at least 9 differentiation tests by passive movement combined with palpation
- Demonstrate and interpret at least 5 extra static provocation tests
- Recognize the clinical pattern of functional TMJ instability
- Apply at least 3 management strategies for functional TMJ instability
- Demonstrate proficiency in describing the anatomy and function of the pharynx
- Demonstrate at least 6 assessment and 5 treatment strategies for patients with functional dysphonia
- Describe 5 consequences of dysfunction of the maxillofacial complex in children
- Demonstrate 6 different assessment and combined treatment strategies of passive cranial movements with facilitation of function
- Describe the differences between atypical and typical odontalgia
- Describe 5 alternative causes of toothaches
- Describe at least 5 craniofacial pain management strategies in daily clinical practice
- Describe at least 5 craniofacial pain management strategies in daily clinical practice
